Lottery Winners have shared their new video for ‘Meaning Of Life’, a homage to the town of Leigh in Lancashire, where the band all proudly call home. Frontman Thom Rylance muses about moving away and hating it, always returning to where he was born and bred, seeing familiar faces and ‘the same clothes hanging on the line, washed and dried a thousand times’. Of the DIY video, Tom explains “When you have to make a music video in your garage you have to improvise…”
Lottery Winners are one of the UK’s hardest working new bands and are seeing the fruits of their constant creativity paying off. ‘Meaning Of Life’ is lifted from the band’s debut album which was released earlier this month, charting at #23 in the official album charts, #3 in the independent album charts and #8 in the album vinyl charts; a superb feat for a band’s debut album, particularly on an independent label.
Lottery Winners are proving that bringing back a sense of fun and a fierce independence can prove to be all it takes to conquer the British music scene. They are living proof that commercial, guitar-based tunes belong at the top of the charts and will always be part of the fabric of the British music scene, whether it’s currently seen as ‘fashionable’ or not. They’re everything a good band should be; ambitious, bold and in touch with their growing legion of fans.
