MELANCHOLY RAY share punchy new cut ‘Cassette’

Readying themselves to make an indelible mark on the city’s bustling indie scene, Leeds risers Melancholy Ray share punchy new cut ‘Cassette’

Partnering up with Eades’ Dan Clifford-Smith on production duties, the band’s reverb-fuelled effort proves the ideal follow-up to raucous summer anthem ‘New Routine’, with its garage rock sensibilities attracting welcome praise from key industry gatekeepers (Gigwise, Earmilk) alongside their debut spin on the BBC Radio 1 airwaves (Huw Stephens).

Discussing their forthcoming single, the four-piece explained: ‘Cassette’ is a bittersweet love song which takes a reflective look back on the summer, whilst embracing the cycles of change that’ll return next year. It’ll make you long for the sun and normality”.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
