Morning In May’s debut single “At Least I Still Have My Personality” is coming to you straight from Needful Things Records, after signing with the label earlier this month.
The song tells a tale of an existential crisis about a man at war with himself. Self-loathing makes us feel like we’re drowning in a never-ending abyss of hopelessness. The theatrical, emotive track asks, “Why do we hold onto the pain that is our own creation?”
The single deals with controversial topics of wrestling with self-hated, a problem most of us have dealt with at one point or another. In this song, Morning In May tries to capture the feeling of epiphany, the moment you lose all hope and accept the situation. The feeling of euphoria that pulses through your body when you come to terms with yourself. It is that rush of adrenaline that is the driving force behind Morning In May.
