Our Guest Blogger Ollie Baxxter of Broadside tells us what he has been up to during this Sheltering In time…

We are working hard over here behind the screen trying to help promote the bands that have had to give up touring and we have a few surprises for you, such as Guest Bloggers, loads of Interviews and more. So to start …our first guest blogger……Ollie Baxxter of Broadside!

I’ve been lucky enough to be quarantined with a brand new puppy. He’s 11 weeks old and addicted to waking up every time I try and sneak a snack. I’ve never had a companion before and it’s a lot more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Being the insane person that I am, I have watched hours of puppy training videos on YouTube In hopes of having the fastest, strongest and goodest boy by the time the virus passes.

I was gifted Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire last year on tour and it has stared at me from the bookshelf every time I pick something else to bury myself in. I am finally diving into it between puppy naps and It’s incredible. I’m surprised how long it took me to get into this series considering the original Dracula was/is one of my favorite reads.

(Ollie, we recommend Rice’s Witches series also. But we are partial to Lestat )

With any luck, a French-speaking hunk from New Orleans will kick open my door any second now and render me invincible. At least long enough for me to grab a pint of dairy-free Ben & Jerry’s from Target. WHICH I KNEW WAS A MISTAKE PUTTING BACK. Other than that, I’m excited to release our new single Foolish Believer and hear what everyone thinks about it.

Just so happens we have Broadsides new single Foolish Believer below, so give it a listen:

Thank you, Ollie, and Leo, we love the new song!!

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.

  1. Can I just say what a comfort to uncover somebody who genuinely understands what they are talking about on the net. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people have to look at this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised that you’re not more popular because you most certainly have the gift.
