The duo from Shrewsbury, called Portrayal, have just released two new tracks: Solecism and Sea. The band is composed of Rob Tranter (Guitars, Bass, Synths) and Joe Crook (Vocals, Lyrics, Guitars). Earlier last year they released a beautiful debut album entitled To the Black Sea, and it is truly one of the best things I’ve heard.
Their music is dark, yet inviting and it is composed all too well. If you’re into rock or electric, you’re really in for a treat. Solecism starts off with soft, electrifying guitar and then the mesmerizing vocals begin. The subtle, yet raging, riffs continue throughout the song and it comes together for a classic ending. The second track, Sea, shows how dynamic Portrayal’s sounds can be, and it shows the fluid hooks of Joe’s blissful voice. It also features definitive synths, casting an electric rhythm that ends the track cohesively.
You can download Solecism and Sea for free on Band Camp or you can stream them from Sound Cloud. Portrayal really have it going for them so make sure to check out their debut album; it will not disappoint. You can also follow up with them though Facebook and Twitter, and listen to their song Solecism and Sea below.
