Tents Announce New LP Medicine And Share The Title Track.

TENTS is a surprising departure from most Northwest based indie pop. Based in Portland Oregon, it serves up nostalgia with a slant. Melancholy is a theme, both musically  and lyrically, but the music doesn’t dwell on pain. Instead the thick harmonies and bouncy grooves move the listener towards jubilance.

A family band, it is comprised of vocalists Amy and Brian who are partners and parents, Guitarist/producer Chris Hall, and most recently by Joe Greenetz (Sherwood) on drums and Matt Taylor (Motion City Soundtrack) on bass.

Their new album, Medicine, which is their sophomore effort will be released through Badman Recording Co. (STRFKR, Mark Kozelek, The Builders and the Butchers) on October 11, 2019. It sounds like an indie record that was made in the Northwest. The hooks, the production, and the sensibilities are there. However, the sentiment is not. It is brave, celebratory and intent. The album scales many different terrains. At times full of joy, at others grief, these songs visit pain, but they erupt from inside of it, presenting the listener with the notion that life is full of beauty and meaning.

About Teri (1931 Articles)
You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
