The Vices release an Indie banger with ‘Looking for Faces’

The Vices released their brand new single, ‘Looking For Faces’, on January 5th. The single is the lead and title track from the band’s upcoming debut album, due 12 March via Mattan Records.

Looking for Faces follows on from the Strokes-Esque ‘In and Out’ and radio hit ‘Boy’. The latter has already amassed upwards of 320,000 streams. The Vices’ kicked off their career at the start of 2019, supporting Yungblud twice and Feeder later in the year while releasing two EPs.

Speaking of the new track, frontman Floris said:

Looking for Faces is about finding your own face and the journey it belongs to. Along the way, you find yourself on the highest peaks and lowest lows, “looking for love on the faces of the people on the street” after a break-up or passing of a loved one. These experiences impact you. On this album, and specifically this song, I discovered that for as long as you observe the world around you, think about what you see and trust your intuition, life will indeed shape you, but you can add your own signature to it. And then everything starts to become more fun…”

Good indie music is hard to come by recently, but The Vices are still holding strong and showing us it is still alive with their twangy guitar chords, crashing drums, and van Luijtelaar‘s vocals that range from deep to falsetto. If everything sounds like this in 2021, it will be a good year.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
