World Exclusive: UK music site Gigwise to honor their Official SXSW Showcase with their first-ever lockdown live stream

UK music publication Gigwise is delighted to announce the first stream of its kind honouring international film and music conference, SXSW. The live stream, which will take place on Thursday 4 June 2020 at 21.00 BST, will be the first global virtual music showcase from an Official SXSW 2020 Presenter since social distancing measures began.   

The show’s aim is to recoup some of the funds these Official SXSW 2020 contributing artists have lost due to the coronavirus pandemic, with all tickets costing just the price of a pint.

Gigwise (www.gigwise.com) is one of the UK’s longest-standing music tastemakers with nineteen years under its belt – almost two decades of going beyond the barrier to report on new and established music. In its 

Gigwise will resurrect the spirit of the world-famous Austin gathering with a clutch of exciting new talent performing for an audience of true music-lovers. The exclusive livestream will feature all-UK artists originally billed to play in Texas this March. 

Vistas will headline the 80-minute show, with Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Weird Milk and China Bears also contributing special performances. This crop of bands represents some of the very best in the UK’s guitar scene, a sector Gigwise will always be associated with.

In order to recoup funds for the participating bands, tickets for the stream will cost the average ‘Price of a Pint’ – £5.
